Eviction Defense Collaborative
The Eviction Defense Collaborative is a non-profit organization that assists residential tenants in San Francisco in defending eviction cases and seeking stays of eviction if they are scheduled for eviction by the Sheriff. We do not currently represent tenants in court, but prepare papers for them to file acting as their own attorney. We prepare some motions, but do not prepare motions to vacate default judgments. We also provide counseling for tenants with eviction cases and additional instruction about preparing for court appearances, including motion hearings, settlement conferences, and trials. We request a sliding scale of fees for our services, which starts at $35. Payment plans are available for people who cannot pay at the time they need our services. We also make referrals to other agencies.
We have another section of our office that administers a rental assistance program that is funded by the City and County of San Francisco, the Rental Assistance and Disbursement Component of the Eviction Defense Collaborative ("RADCo"). |
