The Inglewood Self Help Legal Access Center is a walk-in clinic that assists persons who do not have a lawyer. Our services are free to all residents of Los Angeles County. The center is part of a creative public outreach project of the County of Los Angeles, The Los Angeles Superior Court, Neighborhood Legal Services and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. We are trying to improve access to justice for all members of the community. We do not have income restrictions or requirements about your immigration status.

The center offers information, legal forms, and guidance on a variety of civil (not criminal) matters including:

• Evictions
• Divorces and Paternity Actions
• Civil Harassment

  We do not help people with criminal, immigration or bankruptcy cases.

  We do ask that you bring any legal documents, notices or other papers you have received. It is also helpful if you bring a current pay stub or proof that you receive government benefits because you may want to ask the court to permit you to file papers without paying court costs.

  The Center does not provide legal representation or legal advice. We work with you to help you act as your own attorney. You will be able to fill out your paperwork at the Center, and our staff and volunteers will provide information about the forms and legal procedures. We are here to help you with every step, but you have to help yourself. If your case becomes very complicated, we will give you information about finding a private attorney or legal aid program. A private attorney will charge you a fee.
