California Lawyers for the Arts, is a nonprofit service organization founded in 1974 which provides lawyer referrals, dispute resolution services, educational programs and publications to artists of all disciplines and arts organizations and members of the general public with art-related matters.
The Lawyer Referral services assists people with problems in several areas of the law, including, but not limited to:
Intellectual Property Rights & Related Rights: Copyright, Trademarks, Designs, Patterns, Trade Secrets, Performers' Rights, Other Rights (Moral Rights, Personality Rights)
Contracts: Performers' Contracts, Artists Gallery Contracts, Publishing Contracts, Music Publishing Contracts, Music Recording Contracts, Collaboration Agreements, Licensing Contracts, Film Distribution Contracts, Media Contracts, Performance Contracts
Other: Real Estate, Art Ownership, Free Speech/Libel/First Amendment, Forms of Business, Non-profit Organizations, Alternative Dispute Resolutions (Mediation and Arbitration.) |
